Orphenadrine citrate acts as a skeletal muscle relaxant, functioning within the central nervous system to diminish muscle spasms and enhance muscle relaxation.

This medication is primarily indicated for relieving acute musculoskeletal pain resulting from muscle strains, sprains, or other injuries. Combining a pain reliever with a muscle relaxant, Muscol addresses the pain and the muscle spasms that often accompany musculoskeletal conditions.

Muscol belongs to the pharmacological class of analgesic muscle relaxant combinations. Paracetamol is the analgesic component, while orphenadrine citrate provides muscle relaxation through its anticholinergic effects. Dosage

Always follow the prescribing physician’s instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment. The usual adult dosage for Muscol is one tablet taken orally three to four times daily. Each tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol and 30 mg of orphenadrine citrate. It is important not to exceed the recommended dosage to avoid potential side effects. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered unless it is nearly time for the next dose. In such cases, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing schedule. Do not double-dose to make up for a missed one.

Storage

Store Muscol tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and direct light. Keep the medication out of reach of children. Do not store in the bathroom or near sinks. Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use.
